Reviews
Good service. Very large portions good testing food. The Bibibop was huge and flavorful. The open have carne asada tamale was excellent. A new dish I had not had, steel was cooked to perfection and the mass was very good. Would come back to try other menu items.
Been to many restaurants in Traverse City and this is best food in town! From appetizers to main course to dessert, everything we had as a group was phenomenal! Great atmosphere and an awesome wait staff. I cannot wait to come back and bring my own family to experience these great dishes for themselves. The calamari was tender and flavorful. The chorizo nachos were a great surprise as an appetizer. Seasoned and presented beautifully and left you wanting more. Chorizo con queso and tallerines con chorizo is what will bring me back. They are the kind of dishes that make you say, "this is the best food I've ever eaten." Beautiful presentation and even better Latin flavors. Dessert...Oh Lordy! Cheesecake Flan, need I say more? Simply awesome. Thank you Georgina's for a wonderful experience! We'll be back!
I've been to Georgina's twice now on trips to TC. The first time after seeing great reviews, the second because it was so good the first time. Georgina's identifies as Latin Asian fusion. There are a few items that are fusion, such as the tacos, but overall there are two separate sections for each. The Asian covers several countries/regions. The restaurant itself is fairly narrow, simply decorated, semi opened kitchen. The service was great both times, the servers are knowledgeable about the menu and what the specialties are (the pork). We started both visits with the sangria, their version is great, it has a slight cinnamon taste. They have several cocktail, and of course, wine options. When ordering food one thing to note is the portions are large. Many dishes seemed easily shareable, depending on your hunger level. One friend ordered the 'taste around the world' tacos. You can only order one protein (chicken in this case), the toppings type of taco then includes four types. This is one of the fusion items. My friend really liked them all but preferred the Latin ones. She liked the fresh pico in particular. The other friend had the drunken noodles. This was a bit different then we've had at other places. There were less noodles, and they were not long noodles, but smaller pieces mixed with the meat and veggies. The sauce was good and had a kick but was not overly spicy. The first time I had the Lechon con mojo. This was great, but I tried my friends open faced tamales, which was amazing, so I had the de carnitas this time. This is so good, it's probably for the best I don't live in near by. I highly recommend it, unless you having boring taste buds. This also has a small amount of kick, but again, not spicy. There are a couple misses. The main one being serving re fried beans with this dish. Others came with black beans and rice, which was good. I do not understand why they would serve boring retried beans with an otherwise flavorful dish. The other issue was there were a few overcooked/dry bits of pork. These are small complaints in an otherwise great meal.
This is probably one of the most unique places around. A mix between Latin, Mexican and Chinese the dishes are outstanding. What is also great is the staff are friendly and a ton of them. I have been here several times the last meal was the best. Probably the oddest dish ever but the noodles and chorizo was amazing. My wife was pretty sad that they took the honey cashew chicken of the menu but there are a lot of options. Put this on your list!!
I am here for the second time in two days. The menu has so many creative dishes that I had to come back and try more. The other night I had the Tostada de Lechon recommended by my awesome waitress Michelle. It was so awesome. Big enough for two.
